State Representative Andrea White (R-Kettering) has announced the opening of the application period for the Ohio Historic Preservation Credit Program, as confirmed by the Ohio Department of Development. The program aims to help property owners and developers restore historic buildings across Ohio, preserving local history and converting these sites into community assets.
“This program has helped Ohio’s cities and townships, large and small, rejuvenate and reinvigorate entire downtowns, as well as cultural community icons,” said Rep. White. “We fought hard to secure strong funding for this program in the budget just passed in late June to help continue this strategic investment.”
Those interested in applying must submit an Intent to Apply form by August 15 at 4 p.m., which can be found at development.ohio.gov/historic. In addition, applicants are required to schedule a pre-application meeting with the State Historic Preservation Office by July 31 at 5 p.m.
The most recent state operating budget, House Bill 96, increased annual funding for the credit program to $75 million. This move is intended to support local communities in redeveloping historic properties through private investment.
