The City of Kettering celebrates Juneteenth with a special event "Juneteenth in Kettering: A Celebration of Shared Freedom" on Monday, June 20. The catered box lunch event takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Polen Farm with host Jamie Jarosik, musical guests Speaking of Peace and Candace McCoy and a special presentation by Faheem Curtis-Khidr, who will share a local, national and historical perspective on the importance of the Juneteenth holiday.
Tickets can be purchased at the Kettering Government Center, 3600 Shroyer Road, or at www.ketteringoh.org/juneteenth. Tickets must be purchased by Wednesday, June 15.
