There were 748 Black students enrolled in West Carrollton City schools in the 2023-24 school year, an increase from the 719 Black students in the previous school year, according to the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.

Data showed that West Carrollton City welcomed 3,246 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, Black students made up 23% of the student body, making them the second most represented ethnicity in the district.

West Carrollton City roughly covers six schools within Montgomery County and has its main office in West Carrollton.

Among the six schools in West Carrollton City, West Carrollton High School recorded the highest enrollment of Black students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of 213 students.

In 2022, Ohio saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. This marks an improvement for the state, especially compared to 2016, when the ratio reached its decade-high at 16.1 students per teacher.

Despite the apparent improvement, this positive trend is overshadowed by a general decline in public school enrollments, which was accelerated by the pandemic. This decline, aligned with the steady number of teachers in the state over the last 10 years, has led to low student-to-teacher ratios.
