Centerville High School had the highest enrollment among Montgomery County schools, welcoming 2,697 students during the 2023-24 school year, according to reports from the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2023-24 school year, 51.2% were boys, and 48.8% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 73.6% of Centerville High School's total enrollment.

Among the 141 schools in Montgomery County, Kettering Fairmont High School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 2,449 students, while Wayne High School welcomed 1,660 students and ranked third in the 2023-24 school year.

Centerville High School is part of Centerville City, which roughly covers schools within Montgomery County, with its main office in Centerville.

In the previous school year, Centerville High School also had the highest number of students among Montgomery County schools.

According to Public School Review, Ohio students have not yet recovered from pandemic-related learning losses. In 2023, about 55% of students were considered proficient in math, and 60% in reading, down from 63% and 64% before the pandemic.

Ohio ranks 23rd nationally in K-12 school expenditures, with public schools spending $16,687 per pupil for a total of $28.05 billion annually. Overall, costs exceed available funding by nearly $460 million.
