City of West Carrollton issued the following announcement on March 8.
A Flash Flood Emergency Could Happen to You! Be aware of low-lying areas near bodies of water. Very small streams, gullies, creeks, culverts, dry streambeds - that appear harmless in dry weather - are often the most dangerous areas when flash flooding occurs.
A potentially deadly situation occurred in West Carrollton Monday morning on Soldiers Home -West Carrollton Rd. A car tried to pass through a flooded area and was swept into the river. Thankfully, the driver was able to exit his vehicle and find a place of temporary safety. He was rescued by our first responders. (At this time, the car is not recoverable at this time due to high-water conditions.)
