State Representatives Phil Plummer and Tom Young have announced the approval of $78.7 million in funding by the Ohio Controlling Board. The funds are earmarked for enhancements at Dayton International Airport and Sierra Nevada Corporation in Dayton.

Rep. Plummer stated, "With the state’s investment in Sierra Nevada Corporation, which is located in my House District 39, we will see great job opportunities for people in the Dayton Region." He emphasized that Sierra Nevada is a leader in aerospace and defense and highlighted the investment's potential to improve community quality of life.

Rep. Young remarked, "This is indicative of the commitment of Ohio being the aerospace center of the United States," noting that this funding represents a significant investment for both Dayton International Airport and Sierra Nevada's expansion efforts.

The approved funding will support construction projects including airport aprons, taxiways, and area roadwork across more than 150 acres within the existing Dayton International Airport Area, encompassing parts of Dayton City, Union City, and Butler Township.
