West Carrollton, OH issued the following announcement on February 18.

Celebrate Mardi Gras March 1

The City’s first event of the year will be celebrating the start of Mardi Gras. It will be held Tuesday, March 1, from 5-8 p.m. in the Carrollton Centre area. Specifically on the N. Elm St. block between Central Ave. and Main St. downtown.

The block party will have music from Dayton Mobile DJ and four food trucks including McNasty’s, Claybourne Grille, Cumberland Kettle Corn, and Billie Gold Bubble Tea. Come early to get a Mardi Gras mask, beads and King “cup”cakes.

There will be face painting and balloon animals and the local library will be making mini-floats for the kids.

“We’re very excited to hold our first event of the year in our downtown area. West Carrollton high school art students have been painting the windows down the block to get us ready for the party and we can’t wait to dress in our purple, green and gold,” said Public Relations Director Heidi Van Antwerp.

Pegge Bellamy, events coordinator, says, “this event is for the whole family. Dress up, put on your beads and masks, come grab dinner, maybe dance a little and have a whole lot of fun while we celebrate Fat Tuesday.”
