City of Beavercreek Ohio - Municipal Government issued the following announcement on April 1.
A message from Beavercreek Mayor Bob Stone: April is National Volunteer Month – a month dedicated to recognizing the importance of volunteers and honoring their significant contributions.
This month, I would like to take the time to acknowledge and sincerely thank everyone who has volunteered for the City of Beavercreek. Last year, more than 400 volunteers logged over 5,000 hours to support Beavercreek city events and projects - from coaching youth sports, to Citizens on Preventative Patrol, mulching playgrounds, and greeting members at the Senior Center. Their time, hard work, and dedication is essential to our community.
The City of Beavercreek offers several ways residents and businesses can get involved in their community by volunteering through various divisions and departments, including the Beavercreek Police Department, golf club, parks division, and senior center. I, along with many others, volunteer by driving for the Beavercreek Senior Center’s transportation program, which provides rides to residents who are 55-years or older and live in Beavercreek. We drive residents to-and-from medical appointments, grocery stores, shopping centers, and so on. Along the way, we share stories and enjoy each other’s company. For me, volunteering is a very rewarding and gratifying experience.
If you are interested in volunteering for the city, reach out the correct division or department to learn more about available opportunities.
I encourage you to make a local impact by volunteering.
